Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became a morning news anchor on WCBD TV and was the crime reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective police response towards DUI instances in Charleston led to an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. Her work in Charleston led her to serve as a co-anchor, reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a anchor on the weekdays and was also the weekend anchor for NBC. She also works as a co-anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She's been a reporter for the Academy Awards The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted numerous pre-show arrivals show to The Emmys And The Golden Globes. She also hosts the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
